Bobby Braswell was born September 6, 1957 in Georgetown,
Quitman County to the parentage of the late Louise Braswell and
Homer Hovey.
Bobby accepted Christ at an early age and joined the First
Missionary Baptist Church, Georgetown, GA at an early age.
Bobby was educated in the Quitman County School System. He
graduated from Quitman County High School in 1975. After High
School, he joined the Alabama Army National Guard. During his
military career, Bobby travelled abroad serving his Country for 21
years and retired as a SSG. He was also employed with American
Building for 22 years. His favourite pastime was fishing and
hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his
grandparents; sister, Anina Jean Braswell; grandsons, Hykeem
Rice and Bobby Bruce Jr. Bobby was called to eternal rest on
Thursday, September 14, 2017 at UAB in Birmingham, AL.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 17 years
Eddie Mae (Thornton) Brasswell; daughters, Felisha Folley,
Latonja Jones, Lakeisha Batie, Kimberly Williams-Starks,
Gwinetra Starks, and Latara Harris; sons; Bobby (Latory) Bruce
and Marlin Shorter; grandchildren, Ryan Pearson, Elijah Batie,
Devin Kimbrough, TeYanah Kimbrough, Britney Davis, Bre’Asia
Starks, Brianna Starks, Anthony Crews, Maurice Crews, Dakota
Crews, Cameron Smith, Karnesha Corbitt, Diamond Robinson,
Jacob Daniels, Bobby Mahone, Dajah Bruce, Areiyion Miles,
Tamesiya Bowick. Orriyana Sneed, Taylon Richardson,
Evangelical De La Rosa, Mara Lynn Shorter, McKenzlynn
Wright, Juhwaun Morris, and Will Jones; seven greatgrandchildren;
mother-in-law, Thelma Thornton; sisters-in-law,
Louise (William) Wilson Sr, Emma (Eddie) McFolley, Patricia
Thornton,, Annette (Sampson) Hodge, Yvonne (Jerome)
Thornton, Dorothy Billings, Martha Wallace, Shirley Brown, and
Laverne Thomas; brother-in-law, Rev. Sherman L Williams, and a
host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other sorrowing family
members and friends.
