A Time to Live:
Deacon Ben Walton was born February 16, 1937 in Omaha, Ga. To the late Jessie L. Walton, Sr. and Georgia Brown Walton.
Ben joined Mt. Mariah at an early age and later on he became Superintendent of the Sunday School for many years and later on he was made Chairman of Deacon’s for a longtime. Ben was a member of Mt. Mariah Choir & 5th Sunday and loved AL & Ga singing and loved singing "I’m coming Lord by my-self, you can look for me." Ben worked for WMS Lumber Co. for many years in Columbus, GA and also Harvey Lumber Co. for many years. He later drove for Groom Transportation for some years from Columbus to Atlanta for a while.
A Time to Die:
Later on Ben started weaken down, but he kept the faith. Ben-jamin was called home by his Lord and savior at the age of 82 and departed this life on June 20, 2019.
A Time to Mourn:
Dea. Benjamin F. Walton leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Lois F. Walton; three children, Cyathin Walton Pryor, To-ny Walton and Tracy Walton all of Detroit, MI; one sister, Mol-lie W. Ponder (Clarence) of Lumpkin, GA; six sisters-in-law, Martha Walton, Mary Walton, Minnie P. Walton, Pauline (Alexander) Harvey, Susie A. Walton, Diane Walton; grandchildren.
All of his siblings preceded him in death, Emmett Walton, Jessie L. Walton, Jr., Earnest P. Walton, Foster Walton, Willie James W. Franklin and Georgia Ann W. Small, Daniel Walton, Freddie M. Booth, Lewis W. Walton and two sets of twins.
