D orothy Whi t ehur s t pas s ed away peacefully on March 24, 2019. She was born on January 30, 1941 in Columbia, Alabama to the late Tommy Sr. & Essie Respress.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Whitehurst; her mother & father, Tommy, Sr. & Essie; her daughter, Judith Whitehurst; her sister, Jean Respress and three brothers, Tommy, Jr., James & Charlie Respress.

She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories; one son, Dexter (Christie) Whitehurst; granddaugh-ter, Varquita (Keleen, Sr.); grandson, Thomas; four great grandchildren, Kyelin, Keleen, Jr, Nylah an Landon; ,two sisters, Hilmon Respress of Chicago, IL and Yvonne Lewis; five brothers, Solomon Re-spress, Alfred Respress, Hunter (Gladys) Respress, Clarence Respress, all of Dothan, Alabama and Maurice Brown; one special nephew, Keith Respress and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
