Mr. Lawrence Harris was born to the late Albert Lee Harris
and Iola Williams on July 25, 1947 in Montgomery, Alabama.
He departed his life on September 17, 2018 at his home.
Mr. Harris confessed Christ at an Early age, and joined the St.
James Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. He
graduated from St. Jude High School in Montgomery in 1965.
After graduating from Alabama State University in 1970, He
later moved to Eufaula, Alabama where he taught 25 years for
the Barbour County School System where he was an
Educator, Coach, and Mentor. He later joined the First
African Baptist Church and remained a faithful choir member
and devoted Deacon until his health began to fail.
He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Tommie Jane Fields in
Montgomery, AL. They were married for 47 years. To this
Union three children were born.
Those left to cherish his memories; wife, Tommie Jane
Harris; children, Taras J. Harris of Alexander City, AL,
DiShunn (Kendra) Harris of Enterprise, AL, and Katrina
Hardison of Eufaula, AL; five granddaughters, Jasmine,
Bryanna, Kayden, Syncere, and So’Lace Harris; two great
grand-daughters, Azariah Harris and Aubry Wilson of
Eufaula, AL; a devoted sister, Delores (Walter) Mayes of
Montgomery, AL; a loving mother-in-law, Beatrice Rogers of
Montgomery, AL; a caring Aunt, Murlean Harris of
Montgomery, AL; two special friends, Mr. Andre Wright and
Mr. Don Person, Sr.; and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-inlaw,
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends in the
Montgomery, Eufaula, and Clayton, Alabama area where he
impacted the lives of many.
