M ae Thelma Mason was born in Quitman County, Georgia on June 19, 1938 to the late Mr. Leroy Bouyer, Sr. and Sis. Marie Bouyer. Mrs. Mae Thelma Mason made her transition from her old house to her heavenly home on March 22, 2019.
She confessed Christ and united with the Berry Chapel Baptist Church at an early age. She later united with St. Paul in Brooklyn, NY. In 2017, she relocated back to Georgia and reunited with Berry Chapel. Thelma lived out her Christian faith through her example of being a true believer. She read her Holy Bible daily and called it her Spiritual Food. She was educated at the Kaigler Training School. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Willie F. Gibbs and to this union three sons were born. Years later she met and married, David Mason, in Brooklyn, NY. Thelma was employed and retired from Chase Bank in Manhattan, NY. She was a very devoted mother and her love was unconditional.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David; three brothers and one sister.
She leaves to cherish her memories: three sons, Willie F. Gibbs of Jacksonville, FL, Benjamin Gibbs of Bronx, NY and Anthony C. (Alisa) Gibbs of Raleigh, NC; four brothers, Alvester (Sara) Bouyer of Patterson, NJ, Charlie (Marjorie) Bouy-er of Cuthbert, GA, Leroy (Geneva) Bouyer & Eugene Bouyer both of Georgetown, GA; two sisters, Mary Thomas of Georgetown, GA and Deloris (Rodney) Hamilton of Sahuarita, AZ; five grandchildren, Christopher Samuels, Brittany N, Gibbs, Benjamin J. Gibbs, Jamari B. Gibbs, and Malik Smith; one great granddaughter, Phoenix S. Gibbs; two uncles, Nathaniel Bouyer and James Bouyer; three aunts, Eunice King, Lena (Otis) Winslett and Beatrice Bouyer, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
