Voncille Terry was born on June 6, 1937 in
Dothan, Alabama to Mr. M.C. Terry and Lucille
Terry. She attended Dothan City Schools
and finished at Carver High School. Raised in a Christian home
she accepted Christ and united with the Adams Street Baptist
Church. She later joined Patterson Street Freewill Baptist Church
under the leadership of Rev. James Clark and later Rev. Aldolph
Noble, Sr.
She worked for many years for Dr. Greenfield and managed Club
Capri, here in Dothan. She later worked for Ansell Corporation
and retired in 1986, where she received numerous awards and
commendations.
Voncille was a loving and very devoted mother to her three
beautiful daughters, who preceded her in death, Janaver Terry,
Vander Finch and Teresa D. Beacham. Known throughout the
community for her cooking abilities and her humor, she indeed
was a mother and grandmother to many additional children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, M.C. Terry and
Lucille (Sam) Teague, her grandmother whom she adored
Lessie Nix, aunts Carrie Ward and Perlee Barnes.
She leaves to cherish memories, her husband Frank Pruitt,
grandchildren,Vonger (Tim) McCree, LaShanda (Rico) Perry,
Alvin Beacham, Demetrick (Jeremy) McCall, Montez Beacham
and Will Galloway; great grand-children, Vontaeveus Finch,
Jervon Nelson, Amad Robinson, Nazier Beacham, Jashyla
Beacham, Nashya Beacham, Daylen McCall, and Jahlesia Mc-
Call; great-great grandchildren Genesis Finch, McKenzie Finch,
Jeremiah Nelson, Jamari Nelson and Ahmiya Tyler; God sons,
Hosea Culver, Serrell Taylor and David Richardson and God
daughter Mary Daniels. Her devoted lifelong best friend, Ms.
Mary Savage and a host of other relatives and friends.
