The Lord was standing at the Pearly Gates on July 17, 2013 and the Angels in Heaven were rejoicing Batherine "Big Mama" Grubbs homecomng. She was born July 17, 1932 to the late Ed Collins and Beulah J. Collins. She accepted Christ at an early age and later joined the Church of God by Faith, where she left a spirtual inherence in the many lives she touched. "Big Mama" was a missionary; prayer band warrior; neighborhood food minister; in home-vacation bible school teacher; faithful church memeber; friend to all; and neighborhood mother. She was an inspiration to every soul she came in contact with and definitely was a phenomenal woman. Her life served as a testament of her true faith in God, no matter the storm of life, Big Mama said "i won't complain."

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 yrs. John Henry Grubbs, three sons, John (Linda) Grubbs, Reginald "Man" Grubbs, Johnnie (Carrie) Grubbs and Gary Grubbs. She was a faithful member of Church of God by Faith; Big Mama spent her years making a home filled wth love for her husband and children and serving as a second mother for many in the neighborhood. Big Mama leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Jerome (Corene) Grubbs and Wade (Luevone) Grubbs, both of Dothan, Alabama; two daughters, Gwendolyn (Lynwood) Crittenton an Kathy Hardick, both of Ashford, AL; 13 grandchildren; eight grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

While "Big Mama" loved everyone, some friends and family realy left a lasting impression, Ann Ashley, Theodis Collings, Kenny Collins, Curtis Grubbs, Cynthia Jones, Jennifer Dennis and Merlyn Arthur.
