Diane (Smith) Tharp was born on February 1, 1963 in Greenville,
Alabama, to the parentage of the late Dixie Lee Lewis and the late
Willie Frank Smith.
Diane accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of
Alabama Avenue Baptist Church, where she remained until her
death.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed
cooking and dancing; and she lived life to the fullest.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dixie Lee Lewis and
Willie Frank Smith; brother, Anthony Lewis; sister, Sandra Lewis;
and brother-in-law, William Hawkins.
Diane (Smith) Tharp departed this earthly life on October 6, 2018.
Diane (Smith) Tharpe leaves to cherish her memories her loving
and devoted children, Lashanna (Vilinte Casey) Smith, Danny
(Tammy) Smith, Cornelius (Tammy) Smith, and Octavia (Aaron
Streety) Smith; sisters, Betty (Bobby) Spencer, and Barbara Jean
Hawkins; brothers, Jimmy Lewis, Jessie Lewis, Edward (Ernestine)
Lewis, and Jackie (Shirley) Lewis; thirteen grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lavon Lewis; best friends,
Loretta Potter and Sheila Reed; good friend, Hubert Earl Baxter;
and a host of uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Diane was loved by the community, family and friends. Her love
and presence will be greatly missed.
