Mrs. Emma Ivory Norris was born May 28, 1936 in Quitman
County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Silla and Freddie
Will Ivory. On September 4, 2018, Emma was called to
eternal rest at Joe Anne Burgin Nursing Home in Cuthbert,
Georgia.
At an early age, she confessed in Christ and became a
member of First Missionary Baptist Church, Georgetown,
GA.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to R. S. Norris. Emma
worked at Lakeview Community Hospital, Eufaula, AL, for
over 25 years. Her favorite pastime was going to church,
baking, shopping and spending time with her loved ones.
In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by
her son, R.C. Norris; daughter, Joe Ann Freeman; three
sisters, Lou Ella Ceaser, Louise Ceaser, and Hattie Pearl
Nelson.
She leaves to cherish her memories; loving husband of fiftythree
years, R.S. Norris; two daughters, Ruby (Douglas)
Oliver of Georgetown, GA and Betty (Eugene) Deloney of
Eufaula, AL; son, James Jackson Jr of Georgetown, GA; sonin-
law, John Freeman; eight grandchildren; eleven greatgrandchildren;
three sisters, Mary (Eddie) Richardson of
Cuthbert, GA, Betty (Sammy) Long of Georgetown, GA and
Geraldine (Paul) Jackson of Eufaula, AL; three brothers,
Bobby (Delores) Williams, and Robert (Judy) Williams of
Georgetown, GA, and Berry (Mildred) Ivory of Eufaula, AL;
sister-in-law, Thelma Thornton; two special friends, Ella
Pearl Mercer, and Dorothy Northington ;and a host of nieces,
nephews, other relatives and sympathizing friends.
