John Bennett Hamerter, Sr.

Mr. John B. Hamerter was born on May 5, 1939 to the late A.B. Hamerter and Manervia Kyles Hamerter.

He was preceded in death by his sons: John B. Hamerter, Jr. and Willie C. Walton; brothers: James B. Hamerter, Jerry L. Hamerter, Ulyssess Hamerter, Willie James Vickers and A.B. Hamerter, Jr.

He gave God his hand on March 19, 2013 at his residence in Bakerhill, Alabama.

John accepted Christ in his life at an early age and became a member of Saint Luke Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, ​Gladys​ ​Mae Hamerter of Bakerhill, Alabama; eight loving children: ​John Grubbs of Dothan, Alabama, Patrice M. Rhine of Eufaula, Alabama, Janice Milton of Montgomery, Alabama, Jeannie Lampley of Montgomery, Alabama, Peggy Lynn of Dothan, Alabama, Debra A. Hamerter (Phill) Jett of Bakerhill, Alabama, Whitney Ariel Davis of Abbeville, Alabama and Jason Garrick Davis of Abbeville, Alabama; two brothers: Jimmy (Ethel) Hamerter of Clayton, Alabama and Paul J. (Annette) Hamerter of Dayton, Ohio; four sisters : Manervia Hillmon of Columbus, Ohio, Mary D. Stewart of Dayton, Ohio, Lue Versia Simons of Eufaula, Alabama and the Reverend Margretta L. Dobbs of Dayton, Ohio; five special adopted children: Tasha Fenn, Wanda Fenn, Cynthia Fenn, Flelisha Fenn, Anthony Fenn all of Eufaula, Alabama; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins. other relatives and friends.
