Easter Sunday, April 5, 1942 as the fourth child of
the late John Eddie and Essie Mae Fryer. He grew
up on a farm and worked on it throughout his
childhood and young adult life. He joined the
Mount Mariah Baptist Church at an early age and
continued to attend until his health began to fail.
Lee attended the Barbour County
Training School in Clayton, Alabama. After high
school, he was drafted into the United States Army. During his tenure in
the United States Army, he fought in the Vietnam War. After completing his
deployment with the Army, he returned home and continued to serve his
country by joining the United States Army National Guard. His unit was
called to war and he was sent to Saudi Arabia where he fought once again
for his country. After his first tour of duty, he attended Sparks (Wallace)
Community College and earned his certification as a Commercial/ Truck/
Fleet Mechanic. He worked as a mechanic on transfer trucks at Boyd
Brothers in Clayton, Alabama for a number of years. He departed this life
on earth on Wednesday, August 10, 2016.
He took great pleasure in engaging those who knew him in debates
because he always emerged the winner, he was a very smart man with a
keen sense of humor and enjoyed laughing and spending time with his
family and friends.
On February 14th 2016 he was joined in Holy Matrimony to Ruby
Jean Fryer, he is survived by his wife, three daughters: Dianne Fryer of
Eufaula, Alabama; Sonya Moten of Statesville, North Carolina; Monica Fryer
of Eufaula, Alabama; two sons: Lenard Fryer (Christy) of Eufaula, Alabama;
Ernest Fryer (Candance) of Clayton, Alabama ;two step daughters, Angela
Thomas (Leroy) of Clayton, Alabama; Donna Kennedy (Donald) of Clayton,
Alabama; fourteen grandchildren: Justin Lackey, Miyhim Lackey, Nigel
Clarke, ZaKyriah Allen, Jeremiah Bell, Alesiya Fryer, Unique Fryer, DeSean
Thomas, Damion Thomas, Vanessa Thomas, Grover Kennedy, Eric Kennedy,
Kendra Kennedy, Tyrone Thomas; six great grandchildren; one brother
Clarence Fryer of Clayton, Alabama, two sisters Dorothy Warmack
(Thornton) of Abbeville, Alabama, and Anne “Pat” Fryer White of Hertford,
North Carolina, a sister- in-law Arlean Fryer of Cleveland,Ohio and a
mother-in-law: Katie Glenn of Texasville, AL. He was preceded in death by a
son Dan Fryer, grandson Stanley"Quan"Clarke, and brother, John Louis
Fryer. During his illness his three year old granddaughter, Alesiya, was his
constant companion, supervisor of caretakers, entertainer, and protector.
He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and
friends. He will be remembered by those who loved him.



