Linda Reeves Galloway was born March 11, 1970 in Henry County to the late Loyce Floyd and Rosie Mae Reeves. She was commonly known as Gidget. She was a 1988 graduate of Headland High School where she served on many committees. After gradu-ating high school, she went to Enterprise College where she earned her degree in Early Childhood Development. She had a passion to teach children in her community to prepare them for their future. During the years she taught at Headland Head Start and Brenda’s Preparatory, she touched so many lives. The children loved Ms. Reeves and she loved them. Later in life she, became a faithful Substitute Teacher at Headland Middle School for several years. While there, she wore so many hats. She made many friends all while helping countless students. One thing for sure, Ms. Reeves loved the kids.
Gidget spent her entire life in Headland, AL. She was well known in the community and was always ready to put her hands to the plow at any given moment. She helped countless people with their Campaigns; she made sure she was available to help every year at the Voting polls; she always made sure she was able to help assist her Rock Creek Neighbors; she was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone. She never met a stranger and she was known for giving the best Hugs. The small things in life always put a smile on her face. She enjoyed spending time with her family at gatherings and holiday functions. She was a firm believer that A family that prays together stays together.
There was no secret that Sister Galloway loved the Lord. Serving the Lord became one of her life’s greatest joys. Sister Galloway accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and in her later years, she rededicated her life to Christ and was on the battle-field until the Lord called her home. She was a faithful member to St. Peter A.M.E. Church. She served on many auxiliaries, but the one that was dearest to her was The Dothan Eufaula Missionary Society. She enjoyed traveling to all the Annual Conferences and Banquets. Most likely you would find her in the kitchen cooking her famous Corn Bread. She was truly dedicated to her church and the many auxiliaries she served.
