Southern Memorial Funeral Home.Of Dothan, and Eufaula Alabama. Sadly announces the passing of Ms. Lucille Teague 98, of Dothan Alabama. Ms. Teague heard the calling of her Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Lucille Teague “Madea” was born on March 7, 1917. She departed from this world to go home to live with her Lord & Savior on August 21, 2015. She was born to the late Lessie Nix & Colombus Rogers.
She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Stringer St. AME Church. Then she later became a member of Adam St. Baptist church. Her final place of worship was Patterson St. Freewill Baptist Church under the leadership of the late James Clark & and then the late Rev. Adolph Nobel, Sr. until her health declined.
Madea was a very loing and kind hearted woman who was loved by her family and many friends. Her & Her Husband enjoying the simple things in life. Like fishing, taking small trips and spending time with her Grands, Great Grands and Great, Great Grands. She was best known for educating her family and friends on her upbringing and trials and tribulation of our people. Her favorite saying was in these conversations was “And child I tell ya”
She was preceded in death by her father, Columbus Rogers; her mother, Lessie Nix; her husband, Sam Teague; her aunts, Carrie Ward and Parlee Barnes and two grandparents, Janaver Terry and Vander Finch.
Cherishing the memory of Madea and awaiting their exit from the land of the dying to be reunited with the land of the living are: a loving and dedicated daughter, Mrs. Voncille (Frank) Pruitt; a granddaughter, Teresa (Alvin) Beacham; three great granddaughters, Vonger (Willie) Stewart, Lashanda (Rico) Perry and Demetric (Jeremy) McCall; three great grandsons, Alvin Beacham, Monteze Beachem and Will Galloway; eight great– greatgrands, Vontaeveus (Monique) Finch, Jervon Nelson and Ahmad Robinson, Nazier Beachem, Jeshala Beacham, Nyshya Beacham, Daylen McCall Jahlesia McCall; one great-great great granddaughter, Genesis Nicole Finch; one great-great great grandson, Malachi Jackson and a host of other family and friends. Two Loving god children, David and Billy Waters.
