Michael Lawrence

The book of life for Michael Lawrence was opened on June 15, 1960, as he was born to the late Johnny Clarence (Sally) Lawrence of Eufaula, Alabama. Mr. Lawrence was a graduate of Eufaula High School.

As the pages of life turned, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Arleana Denise Blackshire, where he connected and took upon himself four children whom he loved and called his own. He was employed at Barbour County Sheriff Department for several years.

Another chapter of his life invovled his confession of Christ and his fellowship with the Star Baptist Church. He was a member of a gospel singing group and enjoyed singing with the Soulful Messengers.

The last page in the book of life for him was written on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Flowers Hospital. God embraced him in his arms, enfolded him in his love, and Michael quietly slipped away.

Survivors includes his wife, Arleana Denise Lawrence; four children: Lakisha Burden and Charle Burden of Eufaula, AL, Clorissa Lee and Lorissa Burden of Columbus, GA; three brothers; Greg (Songia) Lawrence of Huntsville, Alabama, Curtis (Annie) Lawrence of Eufaula, AL and Melvin Lawrence of Bay St. Louis, MS; two sisters: Cynthia Daniels of Eufaula, AL and Patricia Jernigan of Tampa, FL; his mother-in-law: Mrs. Willie Pearl Blackshire, Eufaula, AL; two aunts: Ms. Fannie Mae Reees of Eufaula, AL and Johnnie (Charles) Odis of Eufaula, AL; a host of sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; a very special sister-in-law and confidant, Gayle Louder.
