Lewis was born on May 5, 1949 to the late Sweetie Bell Lewis and Purvis Lewis, Sr. He departed this life on November 12, 2022. He was a truck driver for 56 years. At the time of his death, he was employed with Brannon Golden Trucking Company. He was preceded in death by Judson Lewis, Scherry Lewis and Cathy Gilpin. Purvis great memories will be remembered by his wife, Ercia Reese-Lewis and his children, Schreell Lewis-Matthews, Purvis Lewis, Jr, Lavonda Lewis, Dawn Matthews, Rhonda Lewis, Jud Lewis, Rayanna Mathis and Ihyonna Coley; one sister, Brenda (Ronald) Bell; special friends, Ronald Bell and J. D. Dixon and a host of family and friends.
