Sam Henry Green, Jr. was born June 21, 1930 to the late Sam Green, Sr. and Minnie Lee Anderson Green. He was granted rest from his earthly labors on March 11, 2013 at his home with his family.

Sam received his education in Henry County, Alabama and he joined the Sandville Baptist Church at an early age. He worked on various jobs, and his talents were many. Sam was a great influence to many.

The joys and pleasure of his life wa swith his family, being outdoors, playing cards, dominoes and chewing Red Man tobacco.

On March 5, 1950, he was joined with Maggie Bell Tyson Green in Holy Matrimony and to this union eight children were born. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maggie Bell Tyson Green and four children: JC, Jesse, Carolyn Green and Beatrice Palmer.

Sam leaves to cherish his memories his children: Charles (Chydonna) Green, Vickie Morris, Connie (Jimmy) Jernigan, Julia (Artie) Timbers, Shameka Green, Sharon Bush, Desmond "Shug" Green and Donell Green; son-in-lawn, Hubert Lee Palmer; daughter-in-law, Barbara Ann Green; four sisters: Dora Kellum, Doris (Jerry) Bush, Mary (Teddy) Mendez and Minnie Pearl Walker; eight brothers: George (Martha) Green, Wade (Narita) Green, Thomas (Jackie) Green, Ernest Green, Profitt (Esko) Green, Robert Green, William (Antionette) Green and Clarence (Belinda) Walker; aunts and uncles: Clara Mae (Peter) Bell, Annie Ruth Davis, Eva Baker and Louise (M.C.) Mills and Roosevelt Williams; thirty grandchildren; forty nine great grandchildren; four brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Those we love don't go away

they walk beside us every day.

Unseen, unheard,
but always near,

​so loved, so missed, so very dear
