.After Glow
I'd like the memory of me,
To be a happy one,
I'd like to leave an afterglow
Of smiles, when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo
Whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times
& bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve,
To dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I leave behind
When life is done.

We cried when you left us
But they were aching tears of love.
At least we no longer have to worry,
Because we know you’re living in peace.
The many years we spend with you
Were years that shall never decease.
They were years for us to treasure forever
That will always last,
And the pain will eventually ease.
The memory of you is like an undying fire
Which never seems to end.
And those are the same feelings of our heart
Because you were not just our
Father and Grandpa, but our friend.
So although you’ve gone from our presence
We still say, "See you later"
And never bye-bye
Because Daddy we loved you too much
To just come out and say goodbye
