Mr. Willie James Harris was born October 27, 1949 in Eufaula,

Alabama to the late James and Ola Bell Harris. He passed away

peacefully on May 11, 2021 at Crown Healthcare.

Willie lived to see 71 years of life. He was preceded in death by his

parents, his brother, Bobby Lee Harris and sister Laconnie Harris. He was a man that loved his family. He also loved fishing, music and dancing (and oh boy could he dance).

Willie leaved to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted sister, Rosie Harris, who provided ongoing care throughout his illness; one daughter, Teresa Smith; one granddaughter, Cheyann Smith; three nieces, Katrina Harris, Latara Harris (Orrin Sneed) and Tammy

Nelson; four great nieces, Akeila (Xavier) Robinson, Dejah Turner (Kelvin Williams), Kennisha Dawson and Drayana Sneed; two great nephews, Taylon Richardson and Azeer Harris; eight great-great nieces and nephews; one special family friend, William Henderson, who was there to the end and a host of cousins and friends.

Life is but a stopping place,

a pause in what’s to be,

a resting place along the road

to sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,

different paths along the way

we all were meant to

learn some things,

But never meant to stay.

Our destination is a place

Far greater than we know,

For some, the journey’s quicker,

For some the journey’s slow.

And when the journey finally ends,

We’ll claim a great reward,

And find an everlasting peace,

Together with the Lord.

We the family last a friend

A brother, father, uncle that we loved to the end.

We didn’t want you to go on, we couldn’t keep you;

God called you home.

We didn’t want to cry, we couldn’t hold the tears,

How long we held on to each other all these years.

All of this and that, things we used to do’

Talking and laughing, you know we miss you.

You’re now the your dad, mom, sister and brother too.
