Willie James Mills, Sr.

Southern Memorial Funeral Home of Eufaula, and Dothan Alabama. Sadly announces the passing of Mr. Willie J. Mills of Abbeville Alabama.

Mr. Willie James Mills, Sr.  “Hook” was born May 20, 1933 in Henry County, Alabama to the late E.C. Mills and     Glennie M. Mills.

Willie grew up in Abbeville, Alabama all his life and married Lottie C. Spann and to this union five children were born.

Willie worked with Roy Bay Services and numerous of years in the logging industry. He loved softball and basketball games, and drag racing. His favorite spot was “The Mini Mart Store” in Abbeville.

He departed this life on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Henry County Nursing Home.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters.

Willie J. “Hook” Mills is survived by his children: Abigail Spann, Christopher Mills, Delilah M. Goosby, Willie J. Mills, Jr. all of Abbeville, Alabama; Patricia (Norman) Anderson of Eufaula, Alabama, Denise Gilmore Warmack of Ozark, Alabama; Connie (Anthony) West of Dothan, Mamie Brown Carter of Abbeville, Alabama; nineteen          grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; two sisters, Minnie Kendrick and Mamie (Moses) Kendrick of Miami, Florida; three        brothers, Johnnie Mills of Ft. Gaines, Georgia, Robert (Queenie) Mills of Abbeville, Alabama, and Robert R. Thomas of Dothan, Alabama; one aunt, Lou Hills and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
