With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of Willie Ann Sandifer, who departed this life on April 4, 2025. Born on September 30, 1965, she was a beacon of strength, love, and unwavering faith. Sunday mornings will never be the same without her. Long before the sun peeked over the horizon, she was already up, gospel music playing softly in the background, and a hot cup of tea in hand—a recent switch from her longtime love of Pepsi. Her days were often spent tending to her flowers in the yard, finding peace in the dirt and joy in every bloom. And when the mood struck, she and her beloved husband James would dress up and step out for an evening together. Willie Ann was the heart and soul of her family—the rock who held everyone together. Her love was persistent and present. If a few days passed without a call, you could count on her to send James or blow up your phone until she knew you were alright. That’s just who she was—always reaching, always checking in, always loving. A devoted member of the community and a proud, active Eastern Star, Willie Ann gave freely of her time and heart to those in need. She never hesitated to help anyone and made sure her presence made a difference. Her scent, her smile, and her laughter were like warm embraces, and they will be deeply missed. The house feels emptier now, especially at 4:00am when the boys are dropped off, and she’s no longer sitting in her chair waiting to greet them. Maybe God took her too soon—but we trust He knew the beauty He was bringing home. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, family, and community. And though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the memories and in knowing she is at peace. Rest well, Willie Ann. You will always be missed, and you will always be loved.

When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom filled room Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not for long And not with your head bowed low Remember the love that once we shared Miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take And each must go alone. It's all part of the master plan A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart Go to the friends we know. Laugh at all the things we used to do Miss me, but let me go.
