Deacon Willie B. Turner, also known as "Big Daddy", was born on May 17, 1926 in Barbour County, Alabama to the late Mr. Willie C. Turner and the late Nettie Bryant Turner.
Willie B. Turner confessed to Christ at an early age and he joined Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church where he was a faithful Deacon and Chairman until death.
Deacon Turner met and married Juanita Underwood in November 1945. To this union seven children weer born. Four sons preceded him in death: Earnest James Turner, Albert Turner, Grayling Turner and John Henry Turner; nineteen other brothers and sisters also preceded him in death.
He departed his earthly life on January 9, 2013 at the Henry County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Abbeville, Alabama.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sons: Michael Turner (Velma) of Clayton, Alabama, Willard Turner (Norma) of Clayton, Alabama; his daughter, Annice Kennedy of Clayton, Alabama; a daughter-in-law: Lenora Turner of Eufaula, Alabama; sisters: Maddie Warren of Birmingham, Alabama, Mary Sue Sullivan of Los Angeles, California, Daisy Thomas (Isaac) of Clayton, Alabama and Doris Thomas (Clyde) of Clayton, Alabama; two brothers: J.W. Turner of Atlanta, Georgia and Frank Turner of California; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and special relatives and friends.
